One thing that has haunted Kentucky in the early part of the season is coming out of the gate with energy. They had it coming out of the locker room today, but struggled with shooting going into the first media timeout. Ryan Harrow got the start today and had 4 of UK’s 6 points.

After the first five minutes of the game, the shots starting falling and Kentucky went up by as much as 14. Ryan Harrow is now looking very comfortable in the point guard position, and the offense is starting to run a lot smoother. Calipari talked all week about playing with passion and energy, so far Kentucky has done both fairly well. Kyle Wiltjer came off the bench and hit 3 three pointers to get the offense rolling for the cats. Wiltjer leads the Wildcats at halftime with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Ryan Harrow chipped in with 8(a season high already) and Alex Poythress has 7 going into the break. Kentucky forced 15 turnovers which turned into 19 points for Kentucky in the 1st half. Kentucky leads Lipscomb 43-29 going into halftime.

Lipscomb came out hot in the second half and cut the lead to 10, but John Calipari called timeout and Kentucky didn’t look back after that. Kyle Wiltjer was still hot from three point land in the second half as he hit 2 more coming out of the gate. Kentucky led at the 8 minute mark with a score of 73-42.

Kentucky forced 24 turnovers and dominated the points in the paint on way to an easy win over Lipscomb. Kyle Wiltjer led Kentucky in scoring with 23 points and 12 rebounds.Kyle was 1 point shy of his career high, and Nerlens Noel had another solid performance all around with 7 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 blocks. Ryan Harrow was very efficent today and proved to be the point guard of this team, and ended the game with 12 points.

Kentucky defeats Lipscomb 88-50 to improve to 7-3 on the season.

Kentucky will have a week off and then take on Marshall at Rupp Arena at 4 EST.
