Camp Cal has started, but Kentucky was very sluggish coming out. With 12:00 minutes left in the 1st half Kentucky led 13-10 behind 5 points from Alex Poythress. Ryan Harrow checked in at the 16 minute mark of the 1st half and ran the point very well. With harrow in Kentucky extended the lead 22-10 with 9 minutes left in the 1st half.

Kentucky had the lead at halftime 35-20, behind 11 points from Alex Poythress. Nerlens Noel has a leg left injury, but is playing through it. Nerlens wasn’t doing much on the offensive end with only two points, but he had four blocks at halftime. Ryan Harrow spent much of the 1st half at the point guard spot, and started to look like he was getting a better feel of the game.

Like the 1st half, Kentucky came out sloppy and Portland actually cut the lead to 10(49-39) with 13 minutes left in the second half. Kentucky responded with a 3 point play from Kyle Wiltjer. The Wildcats picked up the intensity on the defensive end and started to pull away with 11 minutes left in the second half.

After a strong defensive performance from the Wildcats they defeat the Portland Pilots with a score of 74-46. Alex Poythress led the way for Kentucky with 15 points. Nerlens Noel was flirting with a triple double once again with 7 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 blocks.

Kentucky will be back in action a week from today when they will take on Lipscomb in Rupp Arena.
