Last night, Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel wrote that Louisville football coach, Charlie Strong, turned down the same position with the Tennessee Volunteers. Charlie confirmed the news this morning during a press conference that he has chosen to stay with the Big East Co-Champions. Despite Strong’s statement that Tom Jurich, the fan support, and the move to the ACC were his reasons for staying, it was obvious that the Vols didn’t have the same core values that Strong holds.

With Strong removing his name from consideration, the top choice for Tennessee now shifts. As many top assistants and coaches have been snatched up in the coaching carousel that was the first two weeks of the off season for under performing schools, the list remains a little thin.

Here’s a rundown of the names that moved into consideration, but no news on if any have accepted or given a Strong “No thank you”.
