The speculation continues as to who will be on Mark Stoops staff at Kentucky but nothing has been confirmed yet. James Coley is still a hot rumor, but it is still unclear whether he will be the offensive coordinator or will serve in another capacity. There are rumblings that Kentucky may dip further into the current FSU staff as well:

"Various reports are repeating what Corey Clark, the FSU beat writer for the Tallahassee Democrat, said in a podcast I recorded with him on Tuesday, that defensive ends coach D.J. Eliot is likely to end up at Kentucky, possibly as defensive coordinator. The 36-year-old Eliot coached with Stoops at Wyoming, Houston and Miami. When Stoops was named defensive coordinator at FSU in 2010, he got Jimbo Fisher to hire Eliot, who has recruiting roots in Big Sky country, as well as Texas, having coached at Texas State and Rice. Also, Bradley Dale Peveto, who was just fired as head coach at Northwestern State in Louisiana, could also end up on Stoops’ staff. The two were co-defensive coordinators together at Houston under Dana Dimel. Peveto was also co-defensive coordinator at LSU under Les Miles before becoming the head coach at Northwestern State. Peveto also coached special teams at LSU. The 48-year-old Peveto was 13-31 in four seasons at Northwestern State, but that includes an 0-11 mark his first season."

It’s obvious that the fan base is excited about the hiring of Stoops but on campus, Kentucky football seems to have gained a momentum that has been dormant for a while:

"The hiring of Stoops has been a unifying force for UK fans, and students in particular. With the excitement that a new basketball season brings, students often welcome the end of football season with open arms. But now, walking around campus, it’s as if the Blue-White spring game can’t come soon enough. UK students are once again united as one with something other than basketball. “I’m stoked that a coach with as much respect around the country as Mark Stoops was willing and eager to take over at UK,” said Wes Henderson, a senior at UK. “I hope this shuts a lot of people up about UK’s interest in being a seriously respected football program. This is a step in the right direction. As long as he brings in a good core of coaches and UK follows through with the improvements around the stadium that were promised, we have a good chance at putting out quality football teams.” Henderson is a religious sports fan and a regular at UK sporting events. But even students who don’t have the same credentials were caught up in the Stoops storm Tuesday. “I didn’t go to a single football game this year; I just tailgated,” said Nikki Klein, a UK sophomore. “I really don’t know anything about the team, but my Twitter was blowing up yesterday. It’s crazy that UK hiring Stoops even got non-sports fans interested in football. Football season will be a lot more fun this year.”"
