GAME 7

BAYLOR BEARS (4-2)

DECEMBER 1, 2012 – 12:30 PM
RUPP ARENA – LEXINGTON, KY

TV – CBS

KENTUCKY LEADS SERIES 7-0

LAST MEETING
3/25/2012: KENTUCKY 82 Baylor 70*
NCAA SOUTH REGIONAL FINALS*

The stage is not nearly as big as the last time these two teams met, but the game may be just as important.  It was less than nine months ago when Kentucky beat Baylor to advance to the Final Four.  Now, on December 1st, the teams could not be more different.  Kentucky sent all five of their starters from that game to the NBA.  Baylor sent three of their starters (Perry Jones III, Quincy Acy, and Quincy Miller) to the league as well.  The two returning starters for Baylor could cause problems for UK.  Pierre Jackson and Brady Heslip are a very solid backourt tandem and as we have seen so far this year, teams with very solid and experience backcourt tandems will give Kentucky problems (Duke, LIU, Notre Dame).

For a December 1 game, a lot is at stake.  Both teams are at 4-2 and need to a big national TV game to boost the fears of their fanbases.  Both teams are coming off of bad losses (Baylor has lost to Colorado and College of Charleston) and need to get some momentum back.  I’m not saying that this is a must win game, but the BBN will be in full fledged freakout mode if the Wildcats fall to 4-3.  Let’s meet the Bears.
