I’m thankful. I’m thankful for a lot. I’m thankful for the passion of each member of the Big Blue Nation… even the crazies.

I’m thankful for UK2K.

I’m thankful for the University of Kentucky’s shade of blue.  It’s bold and powerful and much easier on the eyes and that pale shade that North Carolina sports. I’m thankful for “On, On, UofK.” I’m thankful that my favorite colors are Blue and White. I’m thankful for the interlocking “UK.”

I’m thankful for Rupp Arena.  I’m thankful for the 129 game home court winning streak. I’m thankful for Memorial Coliseum. I’m thankful for Alumni Gym.

I’m thankful for Adolph Rupp. I’m thankful for his brown suits. I’m thankful for his high standards.  I’m thankful for Joe B. Hall. I’m thankful For Eddie Sutton. I’m thankful for “Little Brother.” I’m thankful that AD C.M. Newton hired the NY Knicks head basketball coach. I’m thankful for returning to glory. I’m thankful for Tubby Smith.  And I’m thankful for Billy G, if for nothing else than to show that being the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Kentucky isn’t for everyone. I’m thankful for John Calipari. I’m thankful, not for moving the needle, but for being the needle.

I’m thankful for Kyle Macy’s socks. I’m thankful for Kenny Walker walking the sky. I’m thankful for Bowie and Turpin. I’m thankful for Hayes and Daniels.  I’m thankful that Antoine Walker decided that shooting the ball 20 times a game wasn’t worth sacrificing a run at the national championship. I’m thankful for Travis Ford. I’m thankful for Todd Svoboda.

I’m thankful for Deron Feldhaus. For John Pelfrey. For Richie Farmer. For Sean Woods.

I’m thankful for the Unforgettables.

I’m thankful for Christian Laettner. I’m thankful that only when something means that much to you can it it hurt that bad. I’m thankful for real tears, both of joy and heartbreak.

I’m thankful for Cawood Ledford. I’m thankful for Bill Keightley.
