Former Kentucky Wildcats in the NBA: 11/17 Edition

There were a total of nine games being played in the NBA last night, six of those games involved a former Kentucky Wildcat.  Jodie Meeks, Enes Kanter, Tayshaun Prince, Brandon Knight, DeAndre Liggins, Darius Miller, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Chuck Hayes, Patrick Patterson and Terrence Jones all suited up for their respective teams last night.  Let’s take a look at how each player did individually.

Orlando Magic 110 – Detroit Pistons 106

Two former Cats got the start last night for the Detroit Pistons against the Orlando Magic.  At point guard, Brandon Knight finished with 10 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds.  At forward, Tayshaun Prince had 18 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.  Prince also made the SportsCenter Top 10 Plays with a monster dunk of Magic forward Glen Davis.  Unfortunately, the Pistons fell short to the Magic, 110-106.

In the Sacramento Kings vs. Atalanta Hawks game last night, Kings starting center DeMarcus Cousins finished with 9 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.  Off the bench for the Kings, Chuck Hayes had 4 points, 2 rebounds and an assist in 7 minutes of play.  The Kings got blown out in this one, 112-96.

Oklahoma City Thunder 110 – New Orleans Hornets 95

There were three former Kentucky Wildcats in the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Hornets game last night.  For the Thunder, DeAndre Liggins played 4 minutes but did not accumulate any stats.  For the Hornets, Anthony Davis finished with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks.  Also for New Orleans, Darius Miller came off the bench  and had 4 points, 2 assists, a rebound and a steal.  The Thunder got the better of the Hornets in this one, 110-95.

Portland Trailblazers 119 – Houston Rockets 117 (OT)

Two former Cats suited up for the Houston Rockets last night against the Portland Trailblazers.  Patrick Patterson got the start and finished with 15 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a steal.  Terrence Jones did not enter last night’s game.  The Rockets fell just short to the Trailblazers in  a nail biter of a finish, 119-117, in overtime.

Amidst all the coaching change and drama surrounding the Lakers at the beginning of the season, play resumes and former Cat Jodie Meeks had a solid game off the bench.  Meeks played 10 minutes, scoring 7 points, dishing out 2 assists and grabbing a rebound.  The Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns by the score of 114 to 102.

Enes Kanter continues to work hard and does the most that he can in the time that he is given.  Last night, Kanter played 13 minutes, scoring 4 points, pulling down 3 rebound, dishing out an assist and getting a steal as well.  The Jazz fell short the Philadelphia 76ers, 99-93.
