Karl Towns, a 6-11 big man out of St. Joseph’s high school (N.J) and is considered by many to be the #1 prospect in the 2015 class. Many people say he could be the next Kevin Durant, but that remains to be seen. One thing is for certain though, whoever is lucky enough to land Karl Towns, he will automatically make them a contender.
According to the athletic director of St. Joes high, Karl will be making his decision on December 4th on where to attend college. Kentucky is considered a heavy favorite for Towns. The talented big man is a 5 star recruit and the only prospect in the class of 2015 to receive an offer from Kentucky, which happened back in September.
Karl Towns played for John Calipari when Calipari coached the Dominican Republic team this past summer. Many believe that they have built a relationship over that time and that gives Kentucky the edge to land Towns.
Towns also has offers from Florida, Syracuse, Villanova, UCONN, Michigan State, Duke and North Carolina. Ben Roberts from the herald leader reported that Towns commitment will be televised on the MSG network. If Towns did commit to Kentucky, he would be the youngest player that Calipari has gotten a commitment from and it would be nearly three years before he saw the floor as a Wildcat.
