After a lackluster first four games to start his NBA career, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist exploded Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks as he had a career-high 25 points and 12 rebounds to help the Charlotte Bobcats snap a 16-game losing streak against the Mavs with a 101-97 overtime victory.

The man named Kidd who plays like a man was 8/12 from the field and had several offensive rebounds off missed foul shots late in the game that helped give the Bobacts their second win in just five games this season. Last year, it took the Bobcats has only two wins through their first 12 games, and with a young corp of players led by Gilchrist, they’re well on their way to becoming a respectable NBA team. It’s also worth noting Gilchrist leads the Bobacts in blocks with 2.2 swats per game.
