Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Jarrod Polson receiving plenty of praise as the star of the night

If you wake up this morning and still find it hard to believe that Jarrod Polson was the star of last night’s game, you’re not the only one. Luke Winn from Sports Illustrated takes a look at Polson and what he was able to do in place of Ryan Harrow.

Maryland coach Mark Turgeon was unprepared and also clueless as to Jarrod Polson was, not having been prepared for him before the game. “He was the whole key to the game,” Turgeon said. “The kid gave them confidence. He made the play of the game on the rebound. … He was the difference.”

Polson also held his first post-game conference, alongside Coach Calipari and Kyle Wiltjer, who led the team with 19 points.

Not to get too carried away with basketball, but there’s still football news, even during a bye week. ESPN takes a look at who they think will be suitable candidates to replace Joker Phillips. Some of the names mentioned include Willie Taggart (WKU) and Sonny Dykes (Louisiana Tech).

In some exciting news for UK’s Women’s Soccer program, freshman Kelli Hubly scored a goal in overtime to lift Kentucky to a 1-0 win over UT Martin to give UK their first ever NCAA win.
