Kentucky is the gold standard when it comes to college basketball, but if you’ve watched any of their games over the years on anything other than CBS or ESPN, you may have though they were some bottom-feeding program struggling to get any TV exposure. That’s because games were routinely broadcast on the IMG network on some of the lowest quality video on the market today in an era where nearly everything is broadcast in high definition.
The UK IMG Sports Network, also known as the Big Blue Sports Network, has been the radio and TV network for the majority of UK sports since 2007, and has, for whatever reason, never made the basketball games broadcast in HD. College basketball’s best program deserves to be viewed in the highest possible quality, and today UK announced that for the first time in school history, every men’s basketball game can be seen in high-definition. That also includes Thursday’s exhibition game against Northwood.
The five networks that will broadcast games include Fox Sports South, the IMG Network, ESPN, CBS, and the SEC Network. all of these networks will ensure every UK game have an HD option.
