8. Ole Miss Rebels (5-3, 2-2) Prior Rank #10 After trailing by 10 early in the 1st Quarter, Bo Wallace and Co. decided they didn’t want to be the SEC’s doormat. And what better team than John “Smile!” Smith’s Razorbacks? Maybe a couple but you get the picture. Tyler Wilson belongs in the SEC and so does Hugh Freeze. Their Offense has balance (well Wallace is a great running and passing QB) and their D is just good enough to plug a couple holes in a ship but nothing to write home about, but they always find themselves in a position to do positive things. As Freeze and Wallace get their footing, this will only get better. They are definitely going bowling this season which is tantamount to a National Championship after last season. Next Game: at Florida Gators on Saturday, November 3rd @ 3:30 PM

9. Missouri Tigers (4-4, 1-4) Prior Rank #12 Thank God for the Wildcats, is my guess Pinkel’s half time speech was, because UK has failed, by and large, to put together a complete game all season. Today was no different. Kendial Lawrence torched the boys in Blue on 23-108 and 2 TD’s. Missouri wasn’t spectacular on Offense or Defense and that will likely get exposed again in Gainesville when they face the Gators who will be fuming, coming off their first loss this season. James Franklin better eat his Wheaties AND be wearing his PF Flyers. Next Game: at #8 Florida, Saturday on November 3rd @ 12:00 PM

10. Tennessee Volunteers (3-5, 0-5) Prior Rank #11- I don’t believe in “moral victories” but the Volunteers never gave up and were in this until the very end. Tyler Bray is making his bones with Zac Rogers as they connected for 3 TD’s and 107 yds. Justin Hunter led in receptions with 8-90. Surely their next game gives them a chance to retool because if they don’t win out, Derek Dooley likely is out. Next Game: vs. Troy Trojans on Saturday November 3rd @ 12:00 PM

11. Arkansas Razorbacks (3-5, 2-3) Prior Rank #8 John L. sure isn’t smiling after this one. I’m not sure how having, arguably, the best QB in the SEC with a pair of stud runners, doesn’t translate any better than it is, but it doesn’t. He’s probably more worried about his personal finances than Winning. Wilson’s 2 INT didn’t help things but there is no reason why this team shouldn’t be at least be in contention for a bowl game. At this point, the eternal optimist/lunatic is just hanging on long enough to find another job. It’s been a long, long season in Fayetteville. Perhaps they right the ship against Tulsa.

12. Vanderbilt Commodores (3-5, 2-4) Prior Rank #9- Vanderbilt needed to play a team worse than they are and the winless UMass team did quite nicely. Over matched from the jump, Jordan Rogers and Jordan Matthews were in synch and their Defense did what it was supposed to do against inferior competition. Franklin and Co. stand a better than average chance of another bowl game. They have Kentucky coming up next, who seems content to beat themselves. Next Game: at Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, November 3rd @ 12:00 PM

13. Auburn Tigers (1-7, 0-6) Prior Rank #13 Gene Chizik’s seat has to be as hot, or is perhaps hotter than Joker Phillips and Derek Dooley’s combined. Two years removed from the National Championship, Chizik would give his left nut for Cam Newton or something resembling his shadow. Never have I see a program fall so far, so fast. They were shellacked by Johnny Football and the Aggies and won’t have any let up after the NMSU game next week. I expect an announcement from Auburn in the coming days that they will not be bringing Chizik back. Their Offense is stagnant and their Defense has more holes than swiss cheese. Were it not for the Wildcats, they’d occupy the lowest spot in the rankings. Perhaps they can share it. Next Game: vs. New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday November 3rd @ 12:30 PM

14. Kentucky Wildcats (1-8, 0-6) Prior Rank #14 You can close your eyes and throw a dart and hit what UK’s problems are because they are plentiful. 6 Fumbles. Arbitrarily rotating QB’s in and out. Did I mention the 6 fumbles? Good ole Raymond Sanders gave us a spark with his 50 YD KO return then his plunge into the endzone. We are poorly coached and with an injury report to match ALL the episodes of M*A*S*H. We have 3 games left and we will probably keep the Cats right here for every single one of them. Next Game: Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, November 3rd @ 12:00 PM
