| As Alan mentioned earlier, the SEC media released their predictions today and the odds on favorite to win the league is again the Kentucky Wildcats. The team will have to reach those lofty expectationswith a completely new top 6 rotation, after the likes of Davis, Kidd-Gilchrist, Lamb, Jones, Miller, and Teague joined the NBA after last years championship run, a feat John Calipari isn’t too unfamiliar with.Kentucky received all but 7 of the 24 votes for first place with Florida (5), Missouri (1), and Tennessee (1) finding friendly ballots cast as well.
Missouri guard Phil Pressey was voted as the SEC Pre-season Player of the Year getting 6 ballots, just beating out Florida’s Kenny Boyton (5), Arkansas’ B.J. Young (3), Tennesee’s Jarnel Stokes (3) and Kentucky’s Noel (3). Arkansas’ Marshawn Powell (1), Missouri’s Michael Dixon, Jr. (1) and Tennessee’s Jeronne Maymon (1) also received a vote.
