The Kentucky Wildcats nearly pulled off the victory last night. The big game-changer goes back to the penalty against the special teams for running into the punter. Take that away and it’s possible that the Wildcats win the game. From a defensive standpoint, the Wildcats defense came out stronger than last week and more like what we saw in the first half against South Carolina. In limiting Georgia to 77 rushing yards on 32 carries, the Wildcats held an opponent to under 100 yards for the first time since Tennessee rushed for 61 yards last season. The 77 yards were not only the fewest rushing yards allowed by the Kentucky defense but the fewest rushing yards by the Georgia offense.

From an offensive standpoint, Jonathan George set a career high with rushing for 87 yards on 12 carries.

The Blue-White scrimmage is this Wednesday at 7 PM on the UK IMG Sports Network. Outside of Kentucky, the game will appear on FSN South. Online, viewers can stream the game on ESPN3. The scrimmage takes place at the same time that All Access Kentucky airs on ESPN. DVRs will be busy that evening.

The Kentucky women’s soccer team plays host to Auburn University at 2:30 PM this afternoon. The game will be at the UK Soccer Complex. The team currently holds a 11-5-1 in the 2012 season. Meanwhile the men’s team will have a 5 PM kickoff against Florida International University. They have a 7-6-1 record this season.

The Kentucky volleyball team has a conference game against Louisiana State University at 1:30 PM. The game will take place at Memorial Coliseum and will air in Lexington on CWKYT. Dick Gabriel will call the game and former Wildcat player/assistant coach Katie Eiserman will provide the analysis for the UK IMG Sports Network. Kentucky has beat Auburn in 8 of their past 11 matches while maintaining a 31-23 record in the series.
