It was a rough weekend for the Kentucky Wildcats all around and not just in football.
Until Patrick Towles turned his ankle late in the first half, his performance was really strong and it showed what kind of impact he will have at Kentucky. Towles finished his first Kentucky game by going 5-for-6 for 71 yards and a touchdown. After the game, Coach Joker Phillips said that the ankle will be looked at tomorrow but did add later that pending the outcome, Towles “can apply for a medical hardship.” Meanwhile, La’Rod King is in sole possession of 9th place with 1,505 receiving yards in his career. He will be tied for 8th place with 3 more yards.
From a defensive standpoint, the Wildcats improved. The 158 rushing yards allowed by the defense was a season low.
The men’s soccer team lost 2-0 to SMU on Saturday night.
After losing to Missouri in a school record fourth consecutive overtime, the women’s soccer team heads to Oxford, Miss., to take on Ole Miss at 2 PM.
Meanwhile, the volleyball team swept Ole Miss on Friday and heads to Florida today. The match starts at 3 PM and will be aired tape delayed on CWKYT.
