When Maxwell Smith went down on the first play of the South Carolina game, I immediately thought of my 2005 Bengals when Carson Palmer was taken out on the first play of their first playoff game since…forever. I was crushed then. I am crushed now.
I am sick for Smith most, for the team, as well as for Kentucky fans because, let’s be honest here, after the WKU loss, Joker essentially lost whatever hope of remaining as our Head Coach…that is until the the first play in the South Carolina game. Hence my title. Follow?
Addition by Subtraction.
By losing (Subtracting), indisputably, the most important part of our team, Joker assured himself to be the Head Coach through the 2012 season and grounds to remain on in 2013.
And there’s the Addition. Make sense yet?
We lose Smith to injury and gain Joker to that same injury.
