On a night when Kentucky owned every stat but turnover margin, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers came into Commonwealth Stadium and defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in front of 55,000 fans.
On a day when the fans and the basketball team were raising money for charity and creating an atmosphere of positivity, the football team couldn’t hold up their end of the bargain. It was a long, hard night for Max Smith as he threw four interceptions. And the defense let a less than everage Kuwan Jakes find comfort in the offense. Max Smith threw four interceptions only to storm back in the second half to lead Kentucky to a 24-24 tie.
The Cats scored a touchdown in overtime to lead 31-24, but WKU scored and went for the two point conversion to win 32-31. More in a bit.
