    I think there is a big difference between devoted fans and size of the fanbase. Your measure is simply the size of fanbase compared to strength of team. I think a much fairer measurement is year over year comparison of team’s attendance vs winning percentage. That would measure devotion. For a truly devoted fanbase attendance numbers would stay constant regardless of winning percentage increases or decreases.
    Your method also fails to take stadium capacity into consideration. A large stadium that is half filled for a bad team does not mean devotion, but your method will say it does. Your method would also find fault with the devotion of a fanbase for a great team that has a small capacity.
