While being relegated to the bench most of his collegiate career, Williams never stopped working hard and waiting patiently for his time to shine to arrive. After injuries knocked outUK’s top two backs, Raymond Sanders and John Clemons, the Cats looked to the seldom used CoShik Williams to be their primary back. After injuries decimatedUK’s offense last season and the Cats were scrambling for any offense they could find, Williams answered the cal. He became the Cats’ primary offensive weapon late last season.
After getting only 17 carries through the first 6 games of last year, Williams became the lead back and averaged 17 carries per game during the last 6 games in which the Cats went 3-3, including his 21 carries for 68 yards and the game-winning TD againstTennesseeto end 26 years of misery at the hands of the Vols.
