NCAA Stays Quiet On UNC

The Kentucky Men’s Basketball schedule for the 2012-2013 season is finally out. I know we reported it yesterday, but it’s always awesome when the schedule comes out.

People in Northern Kentucky, like me, like making fun of UC and Xavier. So, the news that Mick Cronin has been reprimanded by the NCAA is big news for us UK fans here. Cronin was cited for using profanity and abusive speech to a game official during his loss to Ohio State.

Typical NCAA, punish other schools, but don’t do anything to some. What am I talking about? The UNC scandal. If this were UK, the NCAA would have sent everyone in there office to investigate Kentucky, but they sit back and do nothing to UNC. Awesome, time to call the Better Business Bureau, because that’s exactly what it is, a business.

Morgan Newton has had a lot of ups and downs. He had this to say about being a backup:

“When you’re the backup, everyone wants you to come in and save the universe,” Kentucky’s senior said of the back-up quarterback role he’s played several times over the years. “You kind of wear the cape. It’s unrealistic.”
