The big news out of LA for Kentucky fans isn’t that Dwight Howard got traded to the Lakers, but that Jodie Meeks signed a 2 year deal with the Lakers. The deal is said to be worth about 3 million over the two years.
Last year for the Philadelphia 76ers he averaged 8 points and 2 rebounds in 25 minutes a game last season, where he played in all of the 66 games, starting in 50 of them.
Meeks will be able to give Kobe Bryant some much needed rest. Also, Meeks will give the Lakers a good outside option. If you could, think of it this way, Miami has the big 3 and Ray Allen for outside shooting, and now LA has their own version of the big 3 and Jodie Meeks for outside shooting.
The rotation would look like this:
Starters
PG – Nash
SG – Bryant
SF – World Peace
PF – Gasol
C – Howard
Bench
6 – Duhon
7 – Blake
8 – Meeks
