D’Angelo Russell

Louisville, KY

6’4”, 180 SG

Scout Ranking: ***** #1 SG, #2 Overall

Rivals Ranking: ***** #10 Overall

ESPN Ranking: ***** #2 Shooting Guard, #15 Overall

After attending Louisville’s Central High School for his freshmen and sophomore seasons, Russell headed to Montverde Academy, a prep-school in Florida. During his junior year, he was a backup for the nationally ranked squad before coming back to AAU’s Louisville Magic where his shooting prowess paid off in an elevated national ranking.

Averaging 9.6 points a game in the NBA Top 100 Camp, only 15 players scored more, Russell has the ability to put up points. He displays a sweet stroke from deep and a soft floater in the lane with a prototypical shooting guard body that falls slightly into the average-to-undersized range.

He’s main suitors are currently regional schools, with offers coming from Indiana, Louisville, Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Xavier to name a few. While Kentucky hasn’t offered a scholarship yet, they are certainly in the hunt and remain among Russell’s top picks according to the three major scouting firms.

As for his game, Kentucky fans, think of a Doron Lamb perimeter style but a Darius Miller floater once in the paint.
