As far as award shows go, last night’s ESPYS was probably the worst one I’ve ever seen. Not just because the Wildcats were shut out of all four categories they were nominated for, but the host was awful, there was hardly any music, the presenters couldn’t read the teleprompter and it was just flat out boring.

Rob Riggle was the host and normally I’m a fan of his. But last night his jokes fell flat and the skits were terrible. Hosting award shows isn’t his venue. He needs to stick to the Daily Show, guest starring in random comedies and doing stand up.

Now, onto the awards. Coach Cal lost best coach to Tom Coughlin, Davis lost break through athlete to Jeremy Lin, Davis also lost best college athlete to Robert Griffin III, and the Wildcats lost best team to the Heat, Basically, the awards went to the teams and individuals that got the most airplay on ESPN. If you aren’t convinced that TV can brainwash you, then you should have been after last night’s show.
