Unlike the past few seasons, Kentucky now has some depth at the kicking position. Even though he is the only kicker in UK’s 2012 recruiting class, freshman Landon Foster is the fourth kicker on Kentucky’s roster this season. Foster is rated as a 2-star on Rivals and a 3-star on Scout, and is also listed as one of the top 10 kickers in his class.

He was known for being one of the best kicker/punters in the state of Tennessee during his high school career. Joe Mansour is the only other combo kicker on the roster, so maybe Foster would be able to compete for a spot as early as next season, if not sooner. Foster picked Kentucky over Western Kentucky and Tennessee after being offered last August. Chris Sailer, a kicking expert, had this to say about Foster:

“Landon is a great athlete and talent.  He has a shot at being one of the very best combo players in his class.  A very good punter that has the chance to develope into a special college player.” Sailer said.
