Kentucky Wildcat Football Adds #9, Looking for More

The 2013 recruiting class is really starting to shape up. Florida safety Jalen Battle became the 9^th commitment of the class this week. Battle is listed as a 2* unrated prospect at this point which leaves room for his rating to improve. Kentucky is also involved with several of his teammates, although linebacker Nick Internicola just committed to Rutgers.

UK currently has 3 OL, 2 DBs, 2DL, 1 QB and 1 K.  Expect them to take one more OL, likely a guard/center prospect. Quarterback and specialist are done, there won’t be any more signed unless it’s a slash-type QB/ATH.  Also look for at least 2 receivers and tight ends. Running back could see only 1 signed with the current depth.

On defense, you can look for a couple more DBs, likely corners due to safety depth. Linebacker could see 3 or 4 signed. Add a couple to the defensive line.  In Rick Minter’s defense some players may play at a different position than their recruited listing. The hybrid safety/linebacker position and the “rushbacker” spot muddies the water a bit.
