Katz reported today that Walker’s AAU team, the Florida Rams, was one of four programs that the NCAA has banned from competing in tournaments in July.  The decision came after the NCAA made the decision that the programs have inappropriate relationships with agents, in particular, agent Andy Miller.  The NCAA reportedly found an email from Miller to the four directors of the AAU programs.  The AAU programs have for the most part said they have disassociated with the directors or coaches the NCAA have implicated and have said they will be able to compete in July.

Obviously, none of this implicates Walker personally of doing anything that could potentially be a violation of NCAA rules.  But, it is a reminder of the shady figures involved with AAU programs and sometimes the kids are the ones hurt by the greed of the adults. This could end up being nothing and UK could offer Walker a scholarship tomorrow, it also could be one of the reasons why Calipari has yet to offer the talented youngster.  I am sure we will be finding out more about this situation in the weeks to come, but it is definitely a development to keep an eye on.

That’s all for tonight, see you tomorrow.
