Izauea Lanier tries to tackle Matt Roark
Last week we highlighted the offensive college football players who were former Kentucky recruits but chose to sign elsewhere. This week let’s look at a list of defensive players who would have looked good in blue:
DL- David Washington –JUCO- Washington originally signed with Kentucky, and was considered a huge steal. Unfortunately he couldn’t get qualified despite a good effort and went to JUCO. He has said he will re-sign with UK this year and will add to the DL depth.
DL- Adolphus Washington – Ohio State- This Washington was a top prospect whom the Wildcats were in on early but like most Buckeye kids, dreamed of going to Ohio State. Washington is a dominant pass-rusher in the same mold as Jadaveon Clowney and could have had the same impact if he came to Lexington.
DL – Tyrone Pearson- WKU- Pearson Would be a Wildcat right now if his academic house was in order. After committing and de-committing to UL, Pearson eventually pledged to UK and kept it until Signing Day, when it became apparent that the staff couldn’t take the academic risk. So he signed with WKU. Expect him to play immediately.
