When the Kentucky Wildcats took the field today, playing their second game against Mississippi State in the past three days, many believed Kentucky to be the favorite.  Despite the fact that Kentucky was the higher seed, they had an extra day’s rest, and Mississippi State was playing their fifth game in five games, which gave UK a huge advantage in the pitching department.  Despite the obvious advantages Kentucky had going into today’s game, Mississippi State has been streaking into the end of the year, continuing their solid play into the semi-finals of the SouthEastern Conference Tournament, where they avenged their quarterfinal loss to UK by the score of 2-1.
