Hunting Season: A Kentucky Wildcats Makers 46 Journey

Makers Mark sent the following email out last Thursday night at 11:13pm EDT:

Dear Ambassadors,

One of your favorite redheads has a new ‘’do!

Across the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you might just run across our very own Maker’s 46 Bourbon dipped in celebratory blue wax.

There are 9,000 bottles in circulation starting Friday, May 11, so keep your eyes peeled for them in most packaged goods stores.

As that ding sounded, signaling I had an email on my Android device, I opened my eyes, fumbled through the lock screen on my phone and read the above text.

Then I questioned: There are millions of Redheads in the world and few that I find attractive. 9,000 blue ones that I shall adore, but millions in the Big Blue Nation that adore them with me. Can I find one? No sweat I figured, Emily has said most packaged goods (that’s legal code for liquor stores) would carry them.

This is the story of my hunt.
