Its a good day to be John Calipari


Fresh off winning his first National Championship, Kentucky Head Coach John Calipari is living the high life. He and his team are currently visiting the White House, and coverage of that will be shown live on ESPNU at 5 p.m.today and will also be simulcast on ESPN3 at this link.

Calipari was also given a pay raise of an annual $400,000 increase in guaranteed compensation from media rights and endorsements over the remaining seven years of his current contract, which means he will earn $4.2 million for the 2012-13 season. That would be enough to be the 4th-highest paid NBA head coach. UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart said today he knows Calipari wants to build a dynasty at UK, and this deal should keep Calipari in Kentucky for the remainder of his coaching career.

Calis also on the verge of landing a 4th-straight #1 recruiting class and having a top-3Kentuckybasketball team that will be in the running for the National Championship. He’ll also be the star of the show at the Kentucky Derby this weekend.
