UK Basketball, meet the UK. Sports illustrated is reporting that Anthony Davis is being considered as a candidate for the final roster spot on the USA Olympic Basketball team. This year’s summer Olympics will take place in London, and Anthony Davis will have the chance to show the world exactly what he is all about. Kings C and former Cat DeMarcus Cousins was under consideration for the position, but he is now going to be on the Select Team, allowing him to compete and train with the USA team before they play in the Olympics.
In non-UK news, former NFL LB Junior Seau was found dead, as reported by TMZ and other news sources. Seau played a lengthy portion of his career with the San Diego Chargers, and also with the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Reports say he may have attempted suicide, which explains the self-inflicted gunshot wound. It is another sad day in sports, especially when these former star athletes take their lives in this manner. Prayers go out to his loved ones.
