Now that the NFL Draftapalooza is over, let’s see what there is to talk about this morning in the glory that is the Big Blue Nation.
The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team (36-8, 14-6) will take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (20-23, 8-12) in the final game of a three game weekend series down in Nashville. Vandy won yesterday’s game 4-3 to even up the series at 1 game a piece. The Wildcats are looking for their 7th straight SEC series win this season when they take on Vandy at 2 PM this afternoon.
The NBA Playoffs are underway and several former Cats are still playing. Most notably, Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics tip off tonight against the Atlanta Hawks at 7 PM on TNT.
In track and field this weekend, a new freshman record was set in the Women’s 100m Dash Championship at the Penn Relay as Keilah Tyson ran the race in 11.48 seconds. It was good enough to finish second in the race but set the UK freshman record nonetheless.
The Kentucky Softball team took a loss against Florida and hopes to rebound this afternoon and take the series. UK senior Brittany Cervantes had her third consecutive two-hit game. The Cats are now at 25-27 this season and 11-13 in SEC play.
With the recent selection of Danny Travathan during yesterday’s NFL Draft, Denver is beginning to look like a Lexington reunion.
