If you think John Calipari has mellowed out after winning the national championship, then you need to think again. Cal is still throwing some heat at towards the NCAA and the one-and-done rule. At a fund raiser for Samford University (which raised $102,000), Cal had this to say:

The NCAA president said let them go (to the NBA) right out of high school. What? How many ninth graders will think ‘I’m going right to the NBA?’ Five hundred? One thousand? Now those kids will be really focused on academics. How could you make that statement?

Coach Cal went further in blasting the one-and-done rule:

How about we encourage them to stay longer because it’s the smart thing? There’s things we have to do to make it better for young people.

So many of Calipari’s critics claim he is a fan of the one-and-done system. The people that really hate him act as if he is the architect of the rule. These statements clearly show he is for two-and-done or maybe even something more akin to NCAA football.
