Mar 31, 2012; New Orleans, LA, USA; Kentucky Wildcats guard Doron Lamb (20) celebrates with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (14) after the game against the Louisville Cardinals in the semifinals of the 2012 NCAA men

Also not likely, but more likely than the first outcome, is the outcome in which only one or two of the five stay for another year.  Since one particular rumor has been swirling today about how two players, Doron Lamb and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, will be the ones who return, let’s discuss the possible lineup if that were the case.  This is a possible lineup along with the contributing players:

  • PG- Ryan Harrow
  • SG- Doron Lamb
  • SF- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
  • PF- Alex Poythress
  • C- Nerlens Noel
  • Sub- Archie Goodwin
  • Sub- Kyle Wiltjer
  • Sub-Willie Cauley

This possible team, would be just about as deep as this year’s team, with one player get a lot of time off the bench, and two more getting small amounts of time.  Last season, it was Darius Miller getting a large amount of minutes off the bench, with  Kyle Wiltjer and Eloy Vargas getting small spurts of time.  For this team, it would be Archie Goodwin would be getting a lot of time off the bench and Kyle Wiltjer would be getting more and more time than last year, while Willie Cauley would work in small spurts.  This team would be very good defensively and would shoot the three ball pretty well, but would struggle with getting overpowered in the post.
