Quick, name one former Kentucky player who made an impact for another football team since Joker took over the top job? So….none right? Well, Qua Huzzie is starting for Murray State and Donald Russell is the leading rusher for Georgia State’s infant program. But seriously, no one has left and contributed to a Division I school. Even bally-hooed quarterback Ryan Mossakowski, whom so many fans wanted to start for the Cats this year, struggled as a JUCO starter. He got a few looks but no offers, eventually settling for Lamar. 4* tight end Alex Smith transferred to Georgia State and didn’t record any stats if he played.
Now this off-season has seen more early departures than usual. Most of the time players leave a program at the end of spring, knowing they won’t play much in the fall. This year Dale Trimble couldn’t keep his academics in order. Ridge Wilson will be likely go to prison. Daylen Hall misbehaved again after his famous Youtube video. James Elliott wanted to be closer to home. Henderson realized he isn’t a fit for Rick Minter’s defense. Patterson decided he wanted to seek somewhere he can play right away. And Delic did something bad enough to warrant a dismissal, from rumors I’ve heard , he may have well deserved it.
