Don’t Rely on 3-pointers

3-point shooting in the Superdome that holds 70,000+ proved once again that large domes affect 3-point shooting. Against UL on Saturday, The Cats shot 2/7 from 3-point range, and Final 4 teams combined to shoot 17/51 (33%). While Kansas has one of, if not the best frontcourt the team has played all year, the Cats can’t rely on the 3-point shot for offense.

Full-Court Pressure

The Cats have shown at times this year the ability to swarm their opponents with relentless full-court pressure, but Coach Cal had his team ease off of it toward the end of the year to save his players’ legs for a deep tournament run. Now there is no tomorrow, and KU has yet to play in the NCAA Tournament that has thrown full-court pressure at them for long stretches.Ohio State forced the Jayhawks into 17 turnovers just playing good half-court defense for the most part, so a full-court press could really cause chaos for the Jayhawks.
