March 24, 2012; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Louisville Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino addresses the media in a press conference after the game in the finals of the west region of the 2012 NCAA me

At this point, there is no doubt in my mind that Rick Pitino not only has read Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” but he probably has a dogearred copy and has heavily highlighted the tidbits as they relate to psychological warfare. It’s obvious that his confident words do not belie his actions.  Pitino says that his team can beat Kentucky but he is desperately looking for that mental edge and is trying to get inside the mind of John Calipari.  How else can you explain the full assault of mind games he has employed for the past week?  He knows that when you can not win the battle on the field, the mind games begin and Pitino has been a pro at it this week.
