The Kentucky Wildcat SEC Domination Tour continued yesterday as Kentucky took home more awards than the US Olympic Team the year the Russians boycotted. In case you missed it, here is a list of the total haul:
- Anthony Davis – SEC Player of the year, SEC Freshman of the Year, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, All SEC First Team, SEC All Freshman Team, SEC All Defensive Team
- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist – All SEC First Team, SEC All Freshman Team, SEC All Defensive Team
- Terrence Jones – All SEC Second Team
- Doron Lamb – All SEC Second Team
- Darius Miller – SEC Sixth Man of the Year
- John Calipari – Coach of the Year
Wow. Keep in mind, all of this came on a day when Joe B Hall was named to the Hall of Fame, Anthony Davis was named Player of the Year by the Sporting News, and Davis and Michael Kidd- Gilchrist were announced as finalists for the Wooden Award. As Larry David would say, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.
