Although nothing is official until the job has been open for seven days, everyone is in agreement that Joker has hired ECU coach Pat Washington to coach the wide receivers. Washington is  an excellent choice as a coach, having sent 11 receivers to the NFL. He won a national title at Tennessee under Fulmer and is familiar with the Randy Sanders offense. While not known as an ace recruiter, he isn’t Steve Brown either, and the rest of the staff was built to recruit. There is a lot talent at WR, now Washington is here to coach them up. The only knock on him is his age (49), considering the relative lack of youth on the rest of the staff.

–          It’s been reported that UK target LB Keanu Neal committed to Florida during their Junior Day in Gainesville.

Congratulations to the Kentucky baseball team, the Bat Cats kicked off the 2012 season with victories over Wofford and Eastern Michigan this weekend. Dual-sport athlete Brain Adams played sparingly, getting one at-bat as a pinch hitter and no field time. Stayed tuned, Adams was/is considering giving up football to play baseball full time. If he isn’t getting PT on the diamond, he may return to the gridiron, where he has a great chance at starting next fall.
