This is the one game I dread every year: the Vanderbilt game at Nashville. The combination of the horrible arena planning along with the annoying student section just makes this game practically unbearable to watch for me. Tomorrow night is no different. And the fact that ESPN Gameday will be there makes the spotlight even bigger for UK, especially if they lose.
In Nashville, history is against Kentucky. According to the Nashville City Paper, The Cats have lost four of the past five in Nashville. What also hurts the Cats is the fact that Vanderbilt has won four in a row at home against the top ranked team. The Commodores last played the number one team when Florida came into town during their 2007 national championship season.
“It doesn’t mean nothing now. We’ve got to win this one,” said Jenkins, who attended the upset against Florida in 2007. “This is what you live for. You play basketball for these types of games.”
In the NBA, former Cat Jodie Meeks has been considered as a possibility for the three-point shooting contest during the All-Star Weekend on February 25th-26th, according to CSNPhilly.com. Meeks is currently shooting 44 percent, and he led the Sixers with three pointers last season. So if asked, Meeks will cancel whatever plans he has and head to Orlando. “I’d love to do it, so we’ll see what happens,” Meeks said.
