Some other NBA Notes:

Chuck Hayes made his return to Sacramento on Friday night after signing a new four year, $22.3 million deal. He initially signed a four year, $21.3 million contract on December 9th, but the Kings medical staff discovered a heart abnormality, which led to the team voiding his original contract. So after a hectic week, Hayes ended up earning an extra $1 million, all because someone foolishly questioned his heart.

Its also worth noting that while Hayes was gone, Sacramento players broke huddles by saying “Chuck,” to remind everybody what he brought to the team and his attitude. Here’s what Hayes had to say about the whole situation:

“It feels good, it’s been a long week. I’m just happy I’m here and happy I’m healthy. I guess I’m a big guy and I have a big heart, that’s all it is. It’s different from the average guy. I wanted to cry but my mother was there to do all the crying for me. Just to hear that I could play again, it was great news. It will make Christmas a whole lot better.

Also, the NBA officially announces opening-day rosters, which include Josh Harrellson with the Knicks and DeAndre Liggins with the Magic. Configurations to these two great young men, and all the adversity they overcame to reach their ultimate dreams of playing at the highest level of basketball in the world.
