The Cats got off to a slowstart, falling behind 11-4 early after starting 0-5 from three-pointrange. The Cats then began utilizing their superior size and speed tooverpower Transy, driving hard to the lane and taking control of thepaint. Teague took on his “bulldog” mentality and took control ofthe 1st half, scoring nine points. Anthony Davis had fivefirst-half blocks, several of which were on three-point attempts byTransy. Gilchrist and Jones fought hard in the paint, controlling theboards and getting several nice layups to help UK build a 37-23 leadat halftime. Transy went into the half missing 14 of their last 16shots as UK amped up their defensive intensity. Gilchrist wasrewarded for his efforts and started the second half in place ofDarius Miller, who started the game. The second-half saw much of thesame as UK cruised to a 97-53 victory. Terrence Jones finished thegame as the leading scorer and rebounder with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Anthony Davis had 6 points, 8 blocks,and 8 rebounds but left the game early with a knee injury that didn’tappear serious
UK outscored Transy 60-12 in the paint and out-rebounded Transy 45-27
UK shot 59.1 percent fromthe field and 35 percent from three for the game.
The Cats will be back inaction next Monday against Morehouse College.
