Kentucky fans, media need to not fall in love with Mike Leach just yet
Mike Leach has become the savior for a contingent of Kentucky football fans and they see him as the answer to the Kentucky Wildcats football woes … despite the fact the Kentucky already has a football coach. And Mike Leach has been the hottest guest for a few media outlets in Lexington this week … despite the fact that he is currently in Key West, Florida and having to appear via Skype.
But what does all this have to do with the incredibly hot Alexandra Breckinridge who is pictured above? Well, if you are watching FX’s “American Horror Story” which has become my new TV obsession, you know the answer. In the show, the family meets up with a mysterious housekeeper, who to the rest of the family appears as Frances Conroy
However Dylan McDermott sees Alexandra whenever the housekeeper appears which leads to him making some inappropriate moves based on his perception of the new housekeeper. And this is what Kentucky fans are doing. Falling in love with a vision of Leach they have created and ignoring what flaws he may have. Never mind the fact that Kentucky already has a coach and the fact that openly courting Leach is disrespectful to Joker Phillips, a man who has bled blue for a good portion of his life.
So lay off the “Hire Leach” movement until there is actually a head coaching position..If you really need something to occupy your time, get addicted to “American Horror Story” or start speculating about Big Blue Madness.
The Big Blue All Stars cruised to a 125-104 win last night over the Union Bulldogs. The game was never in doubt as the BBAS stormed out to a 43-13 lead after just 7:22 and cruised the rest of the way. Boogie Cousins led the BBAS in scoring as he dropped 40 points on the Bulldogs. The BBAS are now 4-0 on their tour and are off tonight.
You know basketball season is near when all of the self released “fan songs” come out. Terrence Jones actually appears on this one, bu it does not make it much more listenable:
Now that the Big Blue All Stars game is such a success, it now appears that there will be a “Big Red vs Big Blue” in Bowling Green on October 25. This game will pit former WKU Hilltoppers against members of the Big Blue All Stars. There has been no official announcement about which UK players may participate, but we can expect to see more of these games as long as the NBA strike lingers.
Much has been made about former Kentucky football players Zipp Duncan and Christian Johnson blasting Kentucky and Joker Phillips via twitter and good friend of the site Ken Howlett from A Sea of Blue takes offense to this. I have to say that I pretty much agree with what he has to say.
