Kentucky Wildcats 5For Morning News: So Much For The Lazy Days Of Summer

by 4 PM Headlines

In the immortal words of King Henry V, according to Shakespeare, “Once more unto the breach, dear friends”. We have all kinds of news today, some that will shock you, some that will make you scratch your head and some that will not surprise you at all.
First: Bruce Pearl says he is “disappointed” in the findings of the NCAA concerning his “show cause” penalty. Not half as disappointed as UT is in where they are right now, bub. Dance the tune and you pay the organ grinder.
Second: Glenn Logan has up what he thinks it will take for UK Football to get to 8 wins. He forgot to mention prayer and a miracle,so I threw that in on the comments.
Third: LSU may not be done dealing with their problems as the police executed a search warrant on their QB, Jordan Jefferson’s apartment. The police would not disclose anything other than that they had collected DNA among bags of items they took from the scene.
Fourth: If you think that Coach Cal is not tough, just ask Eloy Vargas. He was cut from the Dominican National Team. Guess coming back to Lexington to get started on classes was not such a tough decision after all.
Fifth: Former UK star Derek Anderson’s attorney is refuting the testimony of Francois Cunningham concerning Derek’s alleged involvement in drug trafficking. Cunningham claimed that Anderson was the “money man” for Ricky Kelly. Let’s hope that his attorney is not only right, but nails someone to the wall over this.
You know, just once I would like to be able to wake up, read headlines and stories and not be disgusted by the entire world of college athletics. For now, I guess, that is not to be.
