WBN 5For Tuesday: Final Four Week Edition

by 4 PM Headlines

Good Morning BBN, and welcome to the Tuesday edition of 5For. Everything this week is about, you guessed it, the Final Four in Houston, so there will be no surprises here, but some really good content.

First up, Eamonn Breannan over at ESPN upstages us with his 10 Things You Should Know About The Final Four. John Calipari finally getting some credit for being able to coach, and Brandon Knight getting some love.

New UK recruit Kyle Wiltjer has won the McDonalds All-American 3 pt shooting contest in Chicago. Wiltjer is one of 4 McDonalds All-Americans suiting up for the Cats. They may want to permanently reserve the Cats a slot in the Final Four, for at least the foreseeable future.

You can still get in your application for Final Four Tickets through the UK Ticket office. Oh how I wish I could get to Houston by Saturday morning. Hat Tip to John Clay.

Ken Howlett over at A Sea Of Blue is bouncing off of the ceiling still this morning. He gives us his look at the Cats going from the Outhouse To The Penthouse (And Beyond). Look for more of his work over at www.CoachCal.com.

Ken Pomeroy has the Cats as the favorites to win it all as of right now with his Log5 algorithm. I will take anything I can get at this point which is positive, but wasn’t Ohio State the favorite just a week ago?

And finally, most of you know that yesterday Mayor Jim Gray and Joe B. Hall along with a host of others announced that the City of Lexington is now officially looking into the options for wither building a new Rupp Arena or significantly enhancing the existing Rupp Arena. This makes me giddy in all sorts of ways, but let me issue this warning to Mayor Gray and anyone else involved with this project. If you put some God-Awful corporate logo on the side of one of the shrines of this commonwealth’s history, we will find you and hunt you down and paint you blue from head to toe. Just as a reminder why you are doing this project in the first place. There will be no “YUM” Center with Kentucky Basketball being housed inside it. You can advertise all you want inside, but keep the Corporate Logos OFF THE BUILDING!
